Cool Site, I don’t how I have missed finding you for so long now. Found you on a tip from BBCW. I am a Joplin area (political)blogger. I haven’t until recently begun trying to keep up with the local politics. Just wanted to know I added you to my blogroll. please check out my little spot on der interwebz we try to have a good mix of snark, borderline crazy conspiracy theory, high level conservative leaning libertarian philosophy, history, and now more local fare. I will be at the breakfast this saturday with Bungalow Bill.
We appreciate it. I will say, we try not to have much of a slant, but generally when our slant shows, it leans slightly to the left, so be prepared
.
Eli, you may want to check ALL of your facts before you publish a story. Just because you “check” court house records does not indicate the current situation. Records at a court house sometimes only get updated annually. “Check” your facts before you start to pile up lawsuits for slander
.
Eli,
I’m not sure if you are reporting or fire starting in your article about Mark & Mike. I believe more information should have been disclosed to insure what actually happened, happend. Screaming ‘fire’ in a crowded theater is illegal, (when there isn’t a fire) your reporting here might fall along the same lines. Try in the future to put opinion and new articles on the respective titled pages.
Eli Yokley, (Editor-in-Chief)
I tried to show somebody the article you wrote about Mike Landis and Mark Kinsley. Your search engine results was zero for mike, mark, landis, kinsely. Hmm, where did you put the article? Well, it looks like you have removed the link to the page, but Google still had it listed as an hidden page.
http://thefusejoplin.com/2010/03/31/landis-with-kinsley-lied-to-the-missouri-ethics-commission/
Why was the article ‘link’ removed? Is there a correction coming soon. Is this an attempt to hide a mistake? How much should the readers of TFJ trust the content of this website? Please explain.
Thanks.
We assure you that we are in no way trying to cover up a mistake.
The article is under political scrutiny, and while the TFJ staff fully supports the article, there are precautions that we must take. We are currently re-evaluating the decision to publish the article, and a final decision will be made soon.
Our effort to take a step back is evident that TFJ is dedicated to providing the best, and accurate information.
Please repost the article. I have heard about it and would like to read it for myself. Don’t let little Mikey or his friends push you around! He and his brother have been doing shady deals for years but no one at the Globe had the guts to write about it.
Look here.
Zach,
“The article is under political scrutiny” What does ‘political scrutiny’ mean? Sounds like you are being pushed around. I can assume a couple of situations: one, the article wasn’t completely correct-or shouldn’t have been written, or possibly you are being pressured by the people who were mentioned in the article. I’m not sure who to believe at this point, as for you say you fully support the article. Either way, something stinks here! Hmm.
Anynomous posts are tacky. Fyi.
Eli,
The irony here is that you don’t even understand what is happening. You are throwing out information, and when constructive and/or negative feedback comes your way, you attack the messenger. (annynomous posts are tacky) Sound like I better stay away from this website and all persons involved. They seem to have an ax to grind and are willing to slay (with the mighty web slander machine) anybody that gets in their way. You wrote you are not yet 18 years old. I applaud your drive and interest in politics and information. Don’t let one bad story ruin your day. Keep it real and honest. If you stand behind the article you wrote, STAND BEHIND IT. Don’t pull it, change it, or hide it. Granted you might make a mistake. When that happens, correct it and be quick about it. Looking at the age of TFJ staff I notice you all look young. Might I suggest somebody with more birthdays under their belt to proof stories before they hit the web. Don’t give up.
We do.
If I can help in any way just let me know.
Go out and vote tomorrow and tell them you don’t want corruption to win in Joplin.
Eli,
Is there a place on the voter card where I can check ‘official without corruption’? Or do I have to stand 50 feet from an election booth area and shout, “no more corruption”-”no more corruption”. Please help.
Howdy,
Couldn’t find a specific contact us email, so I hope you don’t mind the comment. I just recently discovered your site and hope you guys continue to be successful. The more news outlets the better. My fiancee and I, both history lovers, recently created a website on the history of Joplin called Historic Joplin. It’s located at http://www.HistoricJoplin.org. I thought if you deem it worthwhile, it could make for an interesting post under your culture section.
Again, great work on The Fuse Joplin and thanks for your time.
Gents,
I am very impressed. Keep up the great reporting.
I believe that PoliticMO is Missouri’s most informative news source.
